Going to the beach w/o leaving Austin
I went out to Bob Wentz park/Windy Point on Wednesday for swimming. The water level is so low that you can now drive down and park your car where the windsurfers put their boards in. The entire area is now a nice beach. If you have kiddos, it would be a good, inexpensive way to spend the day ($8/car). The water is shallow (and warm!) for quite a ways out, so ideal for small kids or those that aren't strong swimmers.

Sarah and I took the kayak and the two Dogs out there last week it has fun
Great! It is to rocky when the water is high.
That sounds great - I think I will have to tak my kids!
